VonDohern, Lisowski and Schutz Lead NASCAR/Track Point Standings at Grandview Speedway with Just Three Point Races Left in Season
BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 14, 2016 . . . Defending NASCAR Whelen All American Series T.P. Trailers 358 champion Craig VonDohren continues to set the pace in the chase for the 2016 title. With his win in the prestigious Pioneer Pole Buildings Forrest Rogers Memorial race, this past Saturday VonDohren now has 3694 points and four feature wins to his credit. Second in the standings is Mike Gular who has 3576 points without benefit of a feature win. Ten-time track champion Jeff Strunk sits third with 3475 points helped along by his two main event wins.
As the season winds down, just three point races remaining, Mike Lisowski has taken control of the NASCAR Sportsman point standings with 2554 points helped along by two feature wins. Close behind is Jordan Henn just 46 points behind with 2508 tallies. Craig Whitmoyer is third with 2501 and Brian Hirthler has 2455. Any of these racers are in a position to grab the championship.
And in the BRC Late Model division Chuck Schutz, the defending champion, is out front with 3004 points followed closely by Dave Ogin with 2838 counters.
In the three divisions of regular Saturday night NASCAR competition, there have been 24 different feature winners.
NASCAR stock car racing action returns to Grandview Speedway on Saturday, August 20th with a tripleheader card featuring the T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models, and Sportsman stock cars. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Henning’s Trains of Lansdale will send three lucky youngsters home with Lionel train sets.
