Evergreen Speedway will play host to one of Red Bull Global Rallycross’ most popular events of 2016 this Friday and Saturday, as Red Bull GRC Seattle returns to the series schedule. Now serving as the penultimate event of the year before the season-ending Los Angeles doubleheader, a strong showing in the Pacific Northwest will be crucial to determining this year’s championship-winning drivers in both Supercar and GRC Lites.

Defending Red Bull GRC champion Scott Speed is riding high into the weekend on the strength of three straight victories, and now holds the Supercar points lead for the first time since winning last year’s crown. But his Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross teammate Tanner Foust is only nine points behind, and ready to make up for late-race issues last month in Atlantic City that dropped him from the race lead. Subaru Rally Team USA also brings Chris Atkinson and David Higgins out to play as they look to defend their victory in the most recent Seattle race two years ago.

In GRC Lites, Cabot Bigham retains the points lead over defending champion Oliver Eriksson, but he won’t have an easy task ahead of him to defend the advantage. Tanner Whitten, with his three podiums in three starts so far this year, rejoins the Lites field in Seattle, while newcomers Scott Anderson and James Rimmer will also make things interesting in their rallycross debuts.
