World of Outlaws Return to DCRP in 2017 as Track Schedule Released
DODGE CITY, Kan. (November 1, 2016) – After a year’s absence, the Craftsman World of Outlaws Sprint Car series will return to the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval in southwest Kansas in 2017 as the track’s schedule was released today.
The two-night World of Outlaws stand set for October 27-28 highlights a strong schedule of events that includes 14 nights of competition over the course of the year.
The return of the world’s premier Sprint Car series marks the first World of Outlaws events at DCRP since Jason Sides and Donny Schatz split top honors on July 3 and 4 of the 2015 season.
The October 27-28 WoO double will put an exclamation mark on the 2017 DCRP season that kicks off April 15 with the opening night of championship chase action that includes Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.
The track’s championship chase action will conclude with the Fifth Annual Jerry Soderberg Memorial Championship event on September 16.
Along the way, several special events will liven things up with the Fifth Annual Modified Stampede on May 6, the Fourth Annual Sport Modified Mayhem on August 19 and a Stock Car spectacular on June 3.
Additionally, the Steve King Memorial will shift to June 16-17 with the DRCP vs. URSS Sprint Cars battling it out for a $3,000 winner’s share with $600 to start.
