NEW EGYPT, NJ – The stars will be out in full force on Tuesday, June 17 (rain date: June 18) at New Egypt Speedway.

Drivers representing the best of big-block Modified and 360 Sprint Car racing will congregate at the Garden State 7/16ths-mile D-shaped facility for the second edition of the Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. ‘Dirty Jersey 2’ featuring the Super DIRTcar Series big-block Modifieds and – a new addition this year – 360 Sprint Cars.

The event, promoted by superstar driver Stewart Friesen and special events organizer Brett Deyo under the Friesen-Deyo Promotions banner, marks the only ’14 appearances by the DIRTcar big-blocks and 360 Sprint Cars at New Egypt this year.

Super DIRTcar Series Modifieds race 60 laps for a $6,000-plus winner’s share. 360 Sprint Cars do battle in the ‘Turnpike 25’ paying a minimum of $3,000 to the victor. The base payout for the evening, minus lap money and bonuses, tops $42,000!

Justin Haers of Phelps, N.Y., opened the Super DIRTcar Series season at Brockville Ontario Speedway on May 28 with his first series triumph. Haers will lead the traveling DIRTcar squad to New Egypt with a wave of momentum following early season wins in Florida and at N.Y.’s Fulton Speedway.

Other DIRTcar stars making the tow include defending Mr. DIRTcar Modified Brett Hearn of Sussex, N.J., three-time series champ Matt Sheppard of Waterloo, N.Y., Dale Planck of Homer, N.Y., Jimmy Phelps of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Danny Johnson of Rochester, N.Y., Gary Tomkins of Clifton Springs, N.Y., Australian Peter Britten, Keith Flach of Ravena, N.Y., Billy Van Inwegen of Sparrowbush, N.Y., Mat Williamson of St. Catharines, Ont., Matt Billings of Brockville, Ont., and more.

The John Wight-fielded Gypsum Racing team has rejoined the Super DIRTcar Series fold this season and will be out in full force with Billy Decker of Unadilla, N.Y., Larry Wight of Phoenix, N.Y., and Pat Ward of Genoa, N.Y., set to do battle.

Event co-promoter Friesen of Sprakers, N.Y., who has been on fire at Utica-Rome (N.Y.) Speedway this season, will drive the potent Tom Cullen-owned Westmoreland Golf Club No. 1WGC at New Egypt. Friesen finished second in the event one year ago to victor Rick Laubach of Quakertown, Pa., who will again be aboard the Gary and Lori Herrmann No. 7 looking for his second straight triumph in the event.

Traveling Super Late Model star Tim McCreadie has announced his plan to compete at New Egypt driving Vinnie Salerno’s Four Star Transmissions No. 4* Teo-Pro car. The Watertown, N.Y., driver is a past winner at New Egypt.

Frenchtown, N.J.’s Billy Pauch Sr., who has dominated New Egypt this season in Saturday small-block competition, will power up the Kevin Bifulco-owned big-block No. 1 for the ‘Dirty Jersey’ event. Pauch fared well in his most recent DIRTcar starts in Florida this past February.

From the First State of Delaware, defending Delaware International Speedway Modified champion Matt Jester of Milford, Del., will tow his Clearview Farms No. 62 to New Egypt to challenge DIRTcar’s best.

The Pennsylvania region will be led to New Egypt by red-hot Duane Howard of Oley, Pa., who will be at the wheel of Glenn Hyneman’s No. 126 Keystone Racing Teo-Pro car. Wind Gap, Pa.’s Frank Cozze, a former New Egypt champion, will strap into the Rick Clay-owned No. 88C for the special.

Planning to make rare Super DIRTcar Series starts are a pair of Empire State drivers: Mike Mahaney of King Ferry, N.Y., who will drive his family owned No. 33 Gevo’s Rears & Gears big-block and Jeff Heotzler of Wallkill, N.Y., a former series stalwart who will strap into the No. 14H owned by Delaware’s Ron Roberts.

The 360 Sprint Car field will be equally impressive. Among those planning to compete are Mark Smith of Tower City, Pa., in the Mach 1 Sprint Car, eight-time United Racing Company (URC) champion Curt Michael of Ocean View Del., Davie Franek of Wantage, N.J., recent Kramer Williamson Memorial winner Brian Carber of Pipersville, Pa., Jessica Zemken of Sprakers, N.Y., the Fred Kennedy team of Randy West of Boyertown, Pa., and Robbie Stillwaggon of Burlington, N.J., and many more.

Several Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprint (ESS) competitors from New York State have expressed interest in the event, as well.

Fan fun activities include the pre-race Tailgating Competition (four FREE grandstand passes to the winning setup), the Dietz & Watson Pre-Race Picnic, music, giveaways, fireworks, R/C racing, appearances by the ‘Dirty Girls’ and more.

Gates open at 4 p.m. for the pits and 5 p.m. for the grandstands. Sprint Car heat-in-the-motors gets underway at 6:20 p.m. Hot laps are planned for 6:45 p.m. with racing at 7:15 p.m.
