NEATV Named as Title Sponsor of Truck Series
Waterford, CT — The Waterford Speedbowl has announced a title sponsor for the Truck Series formed earlier this year. NEATV, a New England based off-road Motocross Series, has signed on to sponsor the Truck Series which will compete in eight events throughout the 2009 season at the historic shoreline oval.
The NEATV Motocross Series hosts off-road ATV racing events across New England and New York spanning April through October. Featuring racing for both youths and adults, several classes are offered to accommodate the age and experience level of all riders. Points standings are maintained throughout the season with champions crowned in the respective classes. This unique sponsor partnership between the Speedbowl and NEATV brings together two successful yet distinct racing genres, offering the ability to cross-promote to each market base. Plans include allowing Speedbowl fans to meet and greet top Motocross riders during select NEATV Truck Series race nights as well as allow both sides to see four-wheel racing equipment and action different than what they may be accustomed to. Speedbowl promotions, collateral, and group offers will be extended through NEATV Motocross events. The platform was the brainchild of those sharing a common vision, led by Howard Payne, President and CEO of the NEATV Motocross Series. “We recognized opportunity to showcase two different racing products to two different groups that share the same passion for competition and camaraderie” offered Payne.
Speedbowl promoter Terry Eames echoed those statements. “With NEATV, we got to looking at ways to couple resources and strategize concepts that benefit both parties. We got involved with Trucks to offer an abbreviated schedule of races to accommodate teams looking for a local racing venue as their budgets allowed. With NEATV on board, we’re looking forward to working with Howard on putting together some different things.”
The Truck Series made its debut at the 13th annual Budweiser Modified Nationals on Saturday, March 28 with long-time Speedbowl competitor and crowd favorite Allen Coates taking down the win. Coates has stated on many occasions that “these trucks are just plain fun” and looks forward to returning to competition behind the #84 Scott Gregory owned ShopWurld racetruck.
The NEATV Truck Series returns to Saturday night racing May 2, as well as June 27, August 1, and September 19. They will also be part of the season-ending Finale weekend, racing on Saturday, October 10. These feature events are tentatively scheduled as 25-lappers. The Series will also make 2 appearances on Wild ‘N Wacky Wednesday, the Speedbowl’s popular mid-week program, with planned 20-lap feature events.
Joining the list of sponsors of the NEATV Truck Series is Levine Auto Parts, Spectro Performance Oils, Zep Superior Solutions, Lightning Light Bodies, and ShopWurld.com. For rules, results, driver information and Series updates be sure to visit www.neatv-trucks.com.
