Bellm Second in ASCS Warrior Action at Moberly

NIXA, Mo. (April 28, 2017) – Kyle Bellm and the Resource Asset Management Solutions (RAMS) No. 14k Sprint Car team were oh so close to the first victory of the season, landing solid runner-up honors in last Saturday’s ASCS Warrior event at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Missouri.

“I feel like we left one on the table,” Bellm says. “We have things working well, it feels good knowing that.”

This weekend’s plans had included more ASCS Warrior action on Friday night at Fulton’s Callaway Raceway and then the re-opening of Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday night. However, both events have already fallen victim to rain.

After winning his heat race at Randolph County Raceway last Saturday, Bellm gridded the feature sixth aboard the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision entry.

The 2015 Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Rookie of the Year wasted little time working his way forward in the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions machine, taking command before a caution appeared.

The caution proved costly, with Bellm surrendering the point on the restart.

“I didn’t slide myself on the restart and Randy (Martin) slid me,” Bellm explains.

“In clean air, we were a little better,” Bellm says of the feature aboard the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care entry. “When he got by, it was just wide-open around the fence and not enough cars to really get into lapped traffic.”

The runner-up finish has Bellm and the Schaeffer Oil/Prater Designs/The Engine Heater team eager to get back on track.

“The car is working really well, it’s probably the best working car that I’ve had,” Bellm says. “We feel really good about where our program is right now.”

With this weekend’s action awash, Bellm will have to wait another week before likely ASCS Warrior action at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO.

2017 Quick Stats: 6 races, 2 top-fives, 2 top-tens.

Up Next: Rainouts at Callaway (Fulton, MO) Raceway and Lake Ozark (Eldon, MO) Speedway this weekend, leading contender for next Saturday night (May 6) is ASCS Warrior action at Lucas Oil Speedway.
