Hickory Motor Speedway Releases 2018 Schedule
(Nov. 16, 2017– Newton, NC) Hickory Motor Speedway has just released their schedule for the 2018 race season, and it is packed full of excitement. The Historic Race Track will open up their 68th season of racing on March 17th, 2018 with the Cosmo Motors Spring Classic, and the track will once again be headlined each week with the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Bojangles’ Late Models.
The track is presently in discussions for the Paramount KIA sponsorship of the popular Paramount KIA “Big 10” Racing Challenge, which provides 10 races with feature events that provide additional purse money and a points championship of its own.
Hickory Motor Speedway will continue promoting events for the Paramount Auto Group Limited Late Models, Cosmo Motors Street Stocks, One Design Super Trucks, Carolina Custom Golf Carts 4-Cylinders, Renegades and the Catawba Realty and Insurance, Co. Sportsman Racing Classics during their weekly events.
The PASS Super Late Models will return to America’s Most Famous Short Track for two events in 2018, including the Easter Bunny 150 on March 31st and the prestigious Mason-Dixon Mega Meltdown 300 on Nov. 16 th and 17 th .
The Hugely popular Bandit Big Rig Series Semi Truck race will be back in action at Hickory Motor Speedway on April 7 th with thundering Semi Trucks battling for a chance to visit victory lane.
The Must See Sprint Cars will return on April 21 st with Sprint Car action turning 12 second laps at the Historic Oval.
The track will play host to the Cars Racing Tour again in 2018 with two dates. The Cars Racing Tour has had a long history at The Birthplace of the NASCAR Stars and will return on May 5 th and Aug, 4 th for the Throwback Series event.
The Knights of Destruction will return with two events beginning on June 2 nd and is sure to deliver excitement and thrills for all that attend. This event provides a fun filled night of special racing including a school bus race, skid plate race, chain race, and much more followed by a night of fireworks. The second event will be Oct. 13 th and prove to be just as exciting.
Also on tap will be two events for the popular Southern Modified Series on July 7 th and September 22 nd . The Southern Modified Series began at Hickory Motor Speedway last season and provided some great racing for their events with multiple Modified stars in attendance.
The season will also include the running of the Paramount Auto Group Bobby Isaac Memorial race presented by Black Tire and Auto Service on the Saturday September 1 st of Labor Day weekend, a very special tradition at the legendary track, honoring the late Bobby Isaac. The Cosmo Motors Fall Brawl presented by Calico Coatings will be held on October 20 th and which is a 200-lap feature special event for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Bojangles’ Late Models, 100-lap Paramount Auto Group Limited Late Model, 50-lap One Design Super Trucks and more.
There are still a few dates to be secured and some to be announced later, but several of our sponsors have already secured their dates for 2018 at The Birthplace of the NASCAR Stars. The Catawba Reality and Insurance Co. Sportsman Racing Classics dates are tentative.
Ticket prices will remain the same in 2018 (excluding special events) for weekly NASCAR events ($12.50 for adults, $10.50 for seniors and teens, with kids 12 and under free).
Hickory Motor Speedway has been voted the Finest Sports Venue in Hickory Daily Records Best of Catawba Valley for 2017 and Hickory Motor Speedway will soon be releasing a special discounted season pass for the first 100 fans that place an order.
