USMTS Modifieds Make DCRP Debut on June 8

DODGE CITY, Kan. (May 24, 2018) – It will be a first at Dodge City Raceway Park.

On Friday night, June 8, the United States Modified Tour Series (USMTS) featuring the best of the best in Modified racing makes its inaugural appearance atop the state-of-the-art 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas.

The premier touring Modified series in the world will be joined on the special Friday night card by the IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.

The initial USMTS event at Dodge City Raceway Park offers up a hefty $3,000 winner’s share with $300 to start the feature.

Tucson’s Jake O’Neil currently sits atop the USMTS National points charts ahead of the Las Cruces, NM, sibling duo of Johnny and Stormy Scott with Happy, TX, native Rodney Sanders and Chatfield, Minnesota’s Lucas Schott rounding out the current top five.

Seven different drivers have found their way to victory lane through the opening 13 USMTS events of the season with Stormy Scott and New Sharon, Iowa’s Zack VanderBeek leading the way with three wins apiece.

The USMTS hotshoes will be taking on a stout field of DCRP contenders that will be awarded track show-up points for the event. R.C. Whitwell holds the current IMCA Modified points lead at DCRP through the opening two rounds of action with opening night winner Kevin Gray, Kale Beavers, William Nusser and Mike Lunow also among the early top five.

Tickets to the inaugural USMTS event at Dodge City Raceway Park on Friday night, June 8, are just $25 for adults for adults while children 11 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Pit passes are $30.

In total, the 2018 season at Dodge City Raceway Park is slated for 17 nights of action, culminating with the return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars on Saturday night, October 20.
