O’Sullivan Wins at White Mountain Motorsports Park

GRANITE STATE PRO STOCK SERIES PRESENTED BY SPRINGFIELD BUICK GMC

WALPOLE, NH — Surviving an ominous weather forecast and previous postponement, 100 laps of fantastic Pro Stock racing went off on the high banks of White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, NH.

Two years in the making, 2017 series champion “Magic Mike” O’Sullivan of Springfield, MA pulled a rabbit out of his helmet and had the perfect day for any racer. Not only did O’Sullivan win the White Mountain Motorsports Park 100, he won his heat race, had fastest time of the day in time trials, and was top of the charts early in practice. “This series is tough to win in, so it feels really good,” O’Sullivan said. “You race to win and there is nothing like seeing your crew in victory lane and racing guys like Joey Doiron to win means a lot and I had fun.”

Coming off his first win at Hudson International Speedway, Devin O’Connell of Madison, CT backed up that performance with a second place finish at White Mountain. “We started out really tight and were riding around sixth to eighth place, I got behind Jeremy Davis as we were racing with Cory Casagrande, and Davis made a move on the outside, it showed me there was grip up there,” O’Connell said. “After a few restarts late in the race I really worked the outside and I think if we had another ten laps I would have had something for O’Sullivan.”

Taking the lead early on from his neighbor Ryan Green from Berwick, ME Joey Doiron fought a tight car after late race cautions and came home third at White Mountain Motorsports Park. “Looking back I feel like I should have saved a little more but, I wasn’t overdriving it either,” Doiron said. In the closing laps winner Mike O’Sullivan made the move on the outside of Doiron. “Mike had the position on me on the outside and could really hold me down, I could have done something if I got into him but I had to stay off of him, I would want the same respect.”

Jeremy Davis of Tamworth, NH fought hard to finish fourth battling with second place finisher O’Connell and just ahead of points leader Cory Casagrande of Stafford Springs, CT. Casagrande will run as many races as possible but has family obligations later this season as competitor in the family #1 car brother Kyle Casagrande will be getting married in September. The White Mountain 100 went smooth and caution free until lap 74 when the yellow was thrown for debris on the front straight. The following restarts collected Sammy Gooden of Whitefield, NH and Jeremy Harclerode of Newmarket, NH.

Official Results: #08 Mike O’Sullivan, #43 Devin O’Connell, #73 Joey Doiron, #09 Jeremy Davis, #7 Cory Casagrande, #39 Nick Lascuola, #1x Todd Stone, #93 Ryan Green, #90 Craig Weinstein, #18 Mike Scorzelli, #72c Guy Caron, #05 Jacob Dore, #11 Bryon Baker, #20 Richie Brown, #51nh Jeremy Harclerode, #01 Sammy Gooden, #99 Billy Joerres
