Little DCRP Round Three on Sunday

Open Outlaw Karts Added to the Slate

DODGE CITY, Kan. (May 29, 2019) – The all-new 1/7-mile Little DCRP clay oval is gaining momentum in quick order. That will continue with the third round of Little DCRP action at Dodge City Raceway Park this Sunday afternoon.

And this Sunday’s card will offer an added class with the Open Outlaw Go Karts joining the slate of Micro Sprints and Karts. The Open Outlaw Karts will not allow shifters and racers must be 16 years of age and up to compete.

The card that goes green at 4:00 p.m. features Micro Sprint divisions including Winged “A” Class, Non-Wing “A” Class, Restricted “A” Class and Junior Sprints (Novice and Advanced) along with Go Karts (Junior and Adult), Open Outlaw Go Karts and 500-cc Outlaw Cage Karts.

Pit Gates open at 1:00 p.m. Draw will begin at 2:00 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. with hot laps getting underway at 3:15 p.m.

After the initial try to get in the first Little DCRP event was cut short by rain after heat races on May 5, the first Little DCRP winners parked in victory lane in Round Two action on May 19.

Zak Moore entered the record books as the very first Little DCRP feature winner by topping the Non-Wing “A” Class main event with other first time winners including Tanner Johnson (Winged “A” Class), Trey Zorn (Restricted “A” Class), Briggs Williams (Advanced Junior Sprints), Deekan McRoberts (Novice Junior Sprints), Teejay Janousek (Adult Karts), Caleb Berthof (Junior Karts) and Rex Garrison (Outlaw Cage Karts) as more than 50 competitors took in the first full round of action.

General admission to the grandstands is just $10 with children 11 and under admitted free. Pit passes are $20.

Sunday’s card marks the third of eight scheduled Sunday events atop the Little DCRP clay oval.

In total, the 2019 season atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval is slated for 18 nights of action along with another eight Sunday cards atop the newly-constructed 1/7-mile Little DCRP clay oval.
