Jeremy Tuttle, Dan Marsden Split Kart Cup Twin 20’s; Tuttle Claims Overall Title and $1,000

WEEDSPORT, NY (August 27, 2019) – More than 100 entries took part in Weedsport Kartway’s Kart Cup on Sunday, August 25, which served as the fourth round of the Performance Manufacturing Super Kart Series presented by Stirling Lubricants and Champion Racing Oil.

The night’s featured events were the PRO Clone 360 Twin 20’s, pitting 26 of the best kart racers in the area against one another for more than $2,500 in guaranteed prize money.

Jeremy Tuttle dominated the first twin of the evening by nearly two seconds over Chris Pier, David Hackett Jr., Jon Keister, and Richard Murtaugh.  Tuttle’s win netted the driver of the No. 54 his first $500 of the night.

Dan Marsden was scheduled to start on the pole position of the first twin, but had to instead start tail due to a broken keyway on the hot pit.  Despite starting 26th in the order, Marsden raced to 8th in the first twin, setting him up for a race with Tuttle in Twin #2.

The night’s second PRO Clone 360 twin saw Seth Perrin hold court for the majority of the race, which saw a full field inversion, but it was Marsden and Tuttle moving through the field.  Just after halfway, Marsden took the lead from Perrin with Tuttle soon following, which would be enough for Tuttle to lock-up the overall title with a second-place run as Marsden sped away to the win, worth $500.

Perrin took third ahead of Devin McGill and Matt Chavis.

Combined results of the twins would see Tuttle claim another $500 for the overall win (1st, 2nd) with Marsden taking second overall (8th, 1st), Chavis third (6th, 5th), Keister fourth (4th, 8th) and Murtaugh fifth (5th, 11th).

Hackett, Pier, Nick McGill, Devin McGill, and Tim Campbell were the overall Top 10.

Clone Heavy once again saw Murtaugh race to the win in his No. 33 over Nick McGill, Pier, Bill Wood and Perrin in the Top 5.

Clone Light featured a first-time female victor in Madison Myers as she bested Hackett, Campbell, Tyler Brown and Devin McGill.

The Clone Super Heavy main saw the first career Weedsport win for Thomas Montgomery as he topped a hard-charging Nick McGill for the victory.  Murtaugh, Logan Winn, and Chavis were the front five.

Jr. Red Clone was once again a great race with Deegan Nichols taking the win over Blake Banek, Kolton Gamble, Connor Allen, and Sawyer Bennett.

Jr. Green Clone featured a runaway by Connor Crane over Parker Allen, Justin Crisafulli, Grayson Adderly, and Cody Stebbins.

Tyler Emmons claimed another win in Jr. Purple Clone with Anthony Pollow, James Donaldson, Caiden Ayen and Chris Duclos in the Top 5.

Finally, Jr. Blue Clone was once again topped by Logan Crisafulli over Tanner Emmons, Owen Bird, Brenden Wallace, and Jacob Hutton.

Stirling Lubricants & Champion Racing Oil’s presentation of the Performance Manufacturing Super Kart Series at Weedsport will conclude on September 28-29 with the running Octoberfest II.

Point racing will conclude on September 28 along with PRO Time Trials and the NYS Clone Heavy Invitational, paying $500 to win.

Sunday’s program will include trophy events for Jr. Red, Jr. Green and Jr. Purple Clone as well as money paying events for Jr. Blue Clone, Jr. Unrestricted, Clone Light, Clone Heavy, Clone Super Heavy, and Winged Champ.

The night’s Clone Light main will pay a guaranteed $1,000 to win with Clone Heavy earning a guaranteed $2,000 to win.
