ACT Tour Bond Auto Labor Day Classic

Nearly 40 American Canadian Tour Championship Stock Car drivers took advantage of Saturday’s (September 5) practice session at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in preparation for the 31st Annual Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 on Sunday, September 6. The Labor Day Classic is the second of two races for the ACT Tour during the Labor Day weekend.

Brent Dragon will attempt to sweep the Labor Day weekend doubleheader after winning Friday night’s Twin State 100 at Twin State Speedway. Looking to stop him will be Scott Payea and Brian Hoar who currently sit atop the point standings and are separated by just five points. Other contenders from the ACT Tour are Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., Randy Potter, and John Donahue among others.

Thunder Road’s weekly Late Model competitors will use their track experience to steal the show. The 2009 “King of the Road” Jean-Paul Cyr along with Phil Scott, Cris Michaud, Dave Pembroke, Jamie Fisher and Nick Sweet all have a shot. Fisher is also an ACT Tour regular along with Eric Chase who have both competed at Thunder Road weekly and on the Tour. They could use their long distance race expertise as well as their familiarity with the “Nation’s Site of Excitement” to pull off the win.

Several Serie ACT Castrol regulars have made the trip down from Quebec to take claim their share of the $46,000 plus posted purse. They include 2008 ACT Tour champion and three-time Milk Bowl champion Patrick Laperle along with Yvon Bedard, Claude Leclerc, and Stephane and Daniel Descoste.

The 31st Annual Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 on Sunday, September 6 is set for a post time of 1:30 pm. Practice for the American Canadian Tour competitors will begin at 11 am. The NAPA Tiger Sportsmen, Allen Lumber Street Stocks and Power Shift Junkyard Warriors will also be in action on Sunday. They finished the majority of their qualifying on Saturday, but still have last chance qualifying and features to complete.
