Serie ACT Castrol to Award $35,0000 at Banquet of Champions; Theetge to be Crowned 2009 Champion

The American Canadian Tour announced today that various awards totaling over $35,000.00 will be awarded at the annual Banquet of Champions for competitors and friends of the Série ACT Castrol on November 21, 2009 at the Best Western Hotel Universel in Drummondville, QC.

Donald Theetge from Boischatel, QC will be crowned the 2009 Série ACT Castrol Champion. Theetge will receive $9,000 from the 2009 Castrol Point Fund. The top fifteen drivers will share in point fund and special awards totaling over $35,000 for the 2009 nine race season.

Five Star Bodies will award a full body to one of 23 Castrol Serie teams who competed in 70% of the 2009 events. The award is valued at over $2,000.

Bassett Racing Wheels will also award a set of coated wheels in a random draw among the fourteen full time teams who competed throughout the 2009 campaign.

2009 ACT Castrol Rookie of the year, Justin Holtom from Ottawa will be honored, along with several special awards, including the Most Improved Driver and Sportsmanship awards. All ACT Castrol teams from 2009 are invited to attend the Banquet of Champions. The top 15 teams will each receive one-of-a-kind personalized plaques.

The Banquet will highlight a season that saw six different winners in the nine events run at five different tracks. A championship battle that came down to the final event of the season at Autodrome St-Eustache, and a season to remember for seven teams from Quebec and Ontario who attended the inaugural ACT Invitational at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on the first weekend of the NASCAR ‘Chase for the Sprint Cup’.

The American Canadian Tour recently announced that they would renew their commitment to the Série Castrol in 2009. There will be an informational meeting for owners, drivers, and crew chiefs on Saturday afternoon at the Best Western Hotel Universel beginning at 3:00. The meeting will announce the 2009 schedule, review procedures and rules and offer an opportunity for teams and management to discuss issues that will affect the Série as it expands over the next few years.
