In 2005, Rowe was part of a three-way dogfight going into the season finale at [All] Star Speedway. Rowe Family is In the Driver’s Seat for SLM North Championship Battle

Naples, ME — In racing, there have been battles through the years of brother-against-brother, friend-against-friend and teammate-versus-teammate. Sometimes a victory has been at stake. At other times, it’s been a championship.

In the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models this season, it has often been a competition between a father and his son for much of the 2007 season. Maine racing legend Mike Rowe has won five events this season, while his son Ben has won one race, but finished second on five occasions. Entering the PASS North season finale at White Mountain Motorsports Park (NH) this weekend, Ben Rowe enjoys a slim 12-point margin in the standings over his father. Richie Dearborn still has a chance at the title too, if both Rowes run into early trouble and Dearborn has a strong race.

Ben Rowe has felt his father’s breathe behind him many times before, but this time Mike is only twelve points behind his son in the PASS North Super Late Model Series title fight. If Mike finishes six spots ahead of Ben, assuming they both get the same amount of heat points, then they will share the lead going into the finale at White Mountain Motorsports Park on Sunday October 14th. And, as we have seen in the past, Richie Dearborn is right there 40 points out of the lead with two races to go if ether Rowe falters badly.

passspeedway95top3082607.jpgNaples, ME — Before the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models headed to Speedway 95 near Bangor, Maine, on Sunday, Richie Dearborn had finished second in a race this year.
