Greenville, SC — The PASS South Super Late Model tour headed to Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, South Carolina for the running of “The Howler” 150-lap event Saturday night. With the full moon shining brightly in the sky, it was Cassius Clark taking the victory over Ben Rowe in a hardcore fight to the finish in the last 50 laps of the event.
Mike Rowe was the fastest driver in qualifying, and after the Dash race he started from the third position with his son Ben starting on the point. Throughout the event, it was the younger Rowe that showed the muscle as he paced the field for the majority of the race. It wasn’t until late in the event when
This coming weekend at Greenville-Pickens Speedway, fans and teams alike will be able to take a piece of the “Howler” weekend with them. That’s because PASS South will be offering up an event t-shirt commemorating the first-running of the Howler 150 for the PASS South Super Late Models.
The t-shirt was designed by 51 Sports, the same group that designed last season’s ultra-popular Mason-Dixon Meltdown t-shirts and sweatshirts. (more…)
Concord, NC — The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Model season is now complete and teams just barely made their season finale in among the threat of rain and snow on October 14th at New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park.
So now what is a true racer to do? Wait for 2008 to come around or find somewhere else to race? Well, the answer for several of the top names up North is simple – they all know that it is time to start looking South for more racing opportunities before the end of the calendar year. Some PASS North teams are looking towards November’s Mason-Dixon Meltdown at Concord Motorsport Park (NC) and some are also looking at running the Snowball Derby in
Naples, ME — When he lined up 19th for Sunday’s Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Model feature at White Mountain Motorsports Park (NH), Cassius Clark knew that he would have plenty of obstacles to dodge if he wanted to get to victory lane.
Naples, ME — Cassius Clark of Farmington, Maine scored his second Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Model of the year in Sunday’s season finale at White Mountain Motorsports Park (NH).
Mike Rowe won his heat race and finished second in the feature event, but could not gain enough points to catch his son Ben Rowe in the championship standings. Ben finished fifth despite having a tire that was going flat. His finish locked up the 2007 PASS North championship. Ben is now a four-time series champion.
Naples,
In the PASS modified 50 lap feature, all Chris Staples had to do was take the green flag and he had back-to-back championships. He did it, but there was a lot more than that to a great modified race. For Chris Smith, Jason Taylor, Mark Lucas, and Troy Morse, it could be second, third or even fifth at the end of the day since there were only 23 points separating second and fifth.

One tradition that has been missing from Greenville-Pickens Speedway for years is the power of true Super Late Model racing. That tradition, however, will reemerge in October however, as full-blown Super Late Models will return to the half-mile speedway, when the PASS South tour makes its inaugural visit to the historic track. “The Howler” event will feature a 150-lap event for PASS Super Late Models on Saturday, October 27th.
In the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models this season, it has often been a competition between a father and his son for much of the 2007 season.
Naples, ME — The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Model portion of Saturday night’s show at All-Star Speedway (NH) was rained out. The PASS Modifieds and Pullen Heavy Industries Sportsmen races, which were also a part of the show, ran their events before the weather turned bad.
Naples,
Ben Rowe has felt his father’s breathe behind him many times before, but this time Mike is only twelve points behind his son in the PASS North Super Late Model Series title fight. If Mike finishes six spots ahead of Ben, assuming they both get the same amount of heat points, then they will share the lead going into the finale at White Mountain Motorsports Park on Sunday October 14th. And, as we have seen in the past, Richie Dearborn is right there 40 points out of the lead with two races to go if ether Rowe falters badly.
Concord, NC — 2007 is a learning season for 14-year-old Zach Stroupe. In the competitive Super Late Model world in the Southeast, it is hard for any driver or team to make their first-ever season in the high-horsepower racecar series an impressive one.
Hickory, NC — Hickory Motor Speedway (NC) has been the site of many firsts when it comes to the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model tour in the last two years.
On Saturday, September 29th, the firsts kept rolling in and Heath Hindman could not be happier about it. While the running of the “Over the Mountain 150” at
“We’re looking forward to going back to All-Star Speedway,” said PASS President Tom Mayberry. “[Track owner] Bobby McArthur has done a great job making improvements for the fans and competitors at the track and there was plenty of action when we went there early in the Summer. The racing is always fantastic on the tight quarter-mile. It is also a track where they feature weekly Pro Stock racing, so we should pick up some of the guys who know the track well for this race. It will be a good show.”
Naples, ME — For the second time in his career, Mike Rowe has become the big winner of the PASS 400 weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in
Rowe was just one of many drivers who led laps during the race. The list of people who spent time out front of the field included D.J. Shaw, Kelly Moore, Steve Berry, Cassius Clark, Travis Benjamin and Ben Rowe.
Naples, ME — The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Model event that was rained out on Saturday night, September 15th at White Mountain Motorsports Park has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 13th-14th.
Concord, NC — There have been a few guys that have become synonymous with the PASS South Super Late Model Series. Just a few names have made every single start since the inception on the series in 2006. One of those is

Canaan, NH — A gorgeous Labor Day afternoon, greeted a good crowd of race fans at the Canaan Motorsports Complex in Canaan, New Hampshire, as the Pro All Star Series invaded the 1/3 mile Speedway with their PASS Outlaw Late Models, PASS Mods, PASS Pullen Industries Limited Sportsman, and a four cylinder open. Winners on the day included Walt Hammond, Jason Taylor, George Baldwin and Mark Childs Jr.
The Outlaw Late Models took center stage with a 100 lap main event. By virtue of his heat win, Mike Harnish grabbed the early lead, and held the field at bay til just past the half way point in the event. Alan Wilson and Walt Hammond were challenging on each restart, but never could quite get the jump on Harnish. On lap fifty-four, Harnish apparently missed a shift and fell deep into the field. Wilson was off like a rocket, when suddenly his car careened off the backstretch into the barrier, ending his day. A flat right front tire caused the mishap. This sent Hammond to the point, a position he wouldn’t relinquish for the remainder of the event. Hammond’s margin of victory was nearly a full straightaway. Following Hammond to the line were Jay Sands, Donnie Lashua, Jimmy Rosenfield and Mike Harnish. Heat checkers flew for Harnish, Wilson and Jimmy Renfrew.
