NEMST Bound for Concord

Promoter Bob Guptill confirmed tonight that the Texas Roadhouse North East Mini Stock Tour presented by Twisted Tea will be supporting the North-South Shootout at Concord (NC) Speedway November 6-7.

“It’s great,” Guptill said of the opportunity to race at Concord. “We traveled to Caraway (NC Speedway in Asheboro) back in March and ran one car with Darren there and had a great time. Being there to,showcase the best the NEMST has to offer against the best in the south holds a special meaning. It’s such a legendary weekend and being back, at Concord is that much better.”

“We have a great reputation with the southern crowd and it will be great to go to their turf for this round of the battle,”

The North-South Shootout was held at Concord from 2003-2010, before moving to Caraway in 2011. This year will make the return of the event to the fast 1/2-mile trioval.

The next race for the series is at Thompson (CT) Speedway Motorsports Park on September 12. The inaugural Stock Car Road Race Challenge with the North East Street Stock Tour, New England Truck Series, Thompson Mini Stocks will see the first race on the renovated 1.7-mile road course for these series.

Event promoters announced tonight that the Mr. Rooter SK Modifieds will return to the event card for a 50-lap, $5,000 to win race.
