Riverhead Raceway Schedules NASCAR Modified Fuel Cell Inspection March 13th
Riverhead, N.Y. Feb. 3rd. — Riverhead Raceway Chief Steward Walt Edsall announced today that the annual fuel cell inspection for the NASCAR Modified division has been scheduled for Saturday afternoon March 13th and will again be held at Oval Speed Unlimited in Massapequa Park.
The fuel cell inspection is mandatory for unsealed fuel cells and competitors are urged to have the fuel cell outside the steel container for the inspection. The inspection will run from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Dennis Freese’s Oval Speed Unlimited which is located at 4786-B Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Park, L.I. Drivers and owners from other division of the NASCAR WINSTON Racing Series of Riverhead Raceway may also want to stop by and visit with Edsall and some of his 1999 NASCAR Officials to ask any questions they might have about the quickly approaching 1999 season.
The 1999 season will again be proceeded by the two pre season practice sessions for the stock car brigade, as Saturday April 10th and Saturday April 17th have been set aside as the warm-up days. The 1999 NASCAR WINSTON Racing Series stock cars will head into action Saturday night April 24th with a full six for one program on tap, while the Enduro troops will open the season officially six days earlier on Sunday April 18th.
