New Staff & Sponsors Added to Claremont Speedway’s Team

Claremont Speedway Adds New Players To Up Coming Season

CLAREMONT NH: Claremont Speedway, now under the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series banner, is gearing up for what may be the best year in the track’s history. Claremont will be the only track that will host the Tour Type Modifieds in New England on a weekly basis for the NWRS series for the year 2000. For the past couple of weeks, Sherrie Fleury – Lanou has worked diligently to obtain key personal to usher in the upcoming season on April 29th.

After a week of conversations, Fleury announced that George Kamansky from Amerhest, MA. was appointed the Head of Technical position in the pit area. Kamansky stated ” With the 2000 season opener drawing near, I look forward to joining the staff at Claremont Speedway. I will be dealing with the challenge’s and tasks involved knowing that their desire is to enforce rules and policies with fair, firm and consistent decisions while maintaining communications and a mutual respect for all parties involved”. “I am excited and anxious to meet everyone with hopes of developing many new friendships”.

Joining Kamansky in tech inspections will be Luis Rivera from Bellows Falls, Vt. Fleury also appointed Jeanne Kamansky to head in the Scoring Tower. Ed Slocum from Lebanon, NH will assist Tony Cullen as the Assistant Starter. Slocum assisted on the flagstand at one New England track for four years.

Marketing Director, Brian Patrick, is working closely with new track sponsors, and is very proud to announce the latest group to come aboard. NASCAR’S official drive-through, McDonald’s restaurants will be a partner for 2000. McDonald’s will have a kids club at the speedway, and will be rewarding fans and drivers on a weekly basis. In addition, fans will receive a special treat on July 1st, as Bill Elliot’s Ford Thunderbird will be on hand.

NASCAR’S car of choice the Pontiac wide track Grand Prix will be pacing the field, as Dartmouth Motors from Newport, NH. and Smith Buick Pontiac out of Rutland, Vt. will provide the official pace car. Race fans can get all cranked up, as Exide Batteries will also be a major player, at the speedway.
