Claremont Speedway Heads Into The New Millennium As A NASCAR Weekly Short Track Racing Series

Claremont, NH: The gates will swing open at Claremont Speedway on April 29th for the first-ever Nascar Weekly ShorTrack Series season in the 54th year in the history of the historic Thrasher Road 1/3 mile asphalt oval.

Due to the inclement weather over the past weekend, practice was postponed. Claremont Speedway will open the pit gates at 9:00 a.m. for registrations and tech inspections will begin at 10:00 a.m., with practice starting at noon. Pit fees will be $15.00 for persons that hold a NASCAR license and $22.00 for non-NASCAR license holders. The management stresses that all competitors must purchase a NASCAR license to compete in the NWRS series events.

As last year Claremont will feature five weekly divisions, including the NWRS Modifieds, Pro Stocks, the Exide ShorTrack Late Models, the Acell Street Stocks and Mini Stocks.

In addition, the track has placed two technical inspectors at the track for Thursday evening starting at 5:00 for competitors to bring their cars to the track to go through the tech inspection if they wish to save time on Saturday. The scales will also be out for competitors to use as long as it is not raining.

Admission for spectators will be 10.00 for Adults, $2.00 for Children, 6 & under is always free. Students that can show a student ID is $6:00. In addition to the stellar performances by the race cars, Mcdonald’s will be giving away a new bicycle on opening night.
