Claremont: Car Show & Practice Information

Practice Day Set For April 22nd & 23rd

Claremont, NH: In a departure from past years, practice for the 2000 racing season at Claremont Speedway will be held both Saturday and Sunday from 10:noon to 4:00 PM.

Technical inspection will begin both days at 10:00 AM. The public is reminded that admission to the grandstand for practice sessions is free and a special two-day combination ticket is in effect for the pits, drivers, and crew.

The two-day event is to ensure that all cars that are expected to run in the NASCAR Weekly Point Series races now sanctioned at Claremont for the 2000 season have ample opportunity to practice. Promoter Sherrie Fluery-Lanou expects a record number of cars to compete this year.

Last week Monica Rook #21 Late Model walked away hands down with the best of show trophy for the Fleury Small Engine Claremont Speedway car show. Bob Hagar, the pilot of the #91 Late Model, Won the award for the best display. Dennis Fleury of Fleury Small Engines, the host of the show, said that Hagar’s display showed a real concern on the parts of the racer to make sure that the sponsors are recognized and given exposure.

Racing at the 54-year-old Claremont facility begins at 6:30 PM on April 29, 2000 ushering in the new Millennium under the NASCAR sanctioning banner presenting the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series. Five divisions of racers will take the green in the
charge for points and the track championship.
