Seeking several hundred brave men & women to compete in two huge demolition derbies
Thompson, CT — Thompson International Speedway is seeking several hundred brave men and women to compete in two huge demolition derby events this year.
The first event is slated for Sunday, May 28th of the Memorial Day weekend and the second will be part of a huge forth of July celebration on Sunday, July 2nd.
Unlike past demolition derbies, the year 2000 events will feature a regular World Class, full-size and mid-size field of cars that will crash and smash until the last car is running. This event will be a winner take all from the money posted.
New to this year’s demo line up will be a Football Team demolition derby. In this type of event, two teams are chosen and the object of the game is to push the ‘football car’ over the goal line to score points. The first team to score five goals is the winner.
The next innovation in demolition derbies to come to Thompson will be the introduction of a special four cylinder, mini car demo. This event will be open to any four cylinder foreign or domestic car and will be run similar to the full-size demo.
Any brave soul interested in participating in either or both of the Thompson International Speedway demolition derbies is encouraged to obtain a complete set of rules and entry form from the track office located the grounds of the speedway or they may call and ask for the information to be mailed to them. Anyone at least sixteen years of age that has a valid driver’s license may participate. For more information, call the speedway office at (860)-923-2280.
