“Super Saturday” at NHIS Is Action Packed!

Loudon, NH — The action never stops on “Super Saturday”, September 15 during the SYLVANIA 300 Weekend at New Hampshire International Speedway (NHIS).

“Super Saturday” will feature two NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series practice sessions, and qualifying for both the USAC Silver Crown Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. This amazing day of racing will end with the New Hampshire 100 for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, the New Hampshire 200 for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and the New Hampshire 75 for the USAC Silver Crown Series.

[Event Schedule]

The two final practice sessions for Sunday’s SYLVANIA 300 will be one of the many highlights of Saturday’s schedule. For the drivers in the “Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup”, a great finish will be the key for a successful championship run. For the drivers outside of the “Chase”, building momentum for the 2008 season will be just as important. Every NEXTEL Cup Series competitor has one goal in mind: Win the SYLVANIA 300!

In the New Hampshire 100, Donny Lia will be looking to take Bob Garbarino’s legendary “Mystic Missile” to Victory Lane. A win in the 100 will guarantee Lia the top spot in the Lincoln Electric/Merriam Graves Track Championship standings for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has not had a repeat winner in 11 races at NHIS. This streak is in real jeopardy as seven of the Series best, including Ron Hornaday, Dennis Setzer, Jack Sprague, Terry Cook, Travis Kvapil, Rick Crawford, and Johnny Benson, are all serious threats to capture the crown at the New Hampshire 200.

The USAC Silver Crown Series will end the day’s intense action with a 75 lap shoot-out in their first visit to “The Magic Mile”. This Series has been a training ground for some of the greatest names in racing. A.J. Foyt, Al Unser, Mario Andretti, Jeff Gordon, and Tony Stewart are just a few of the drivers who have a Silver Crown Series Championship on their resume.

Tickets for “Super Saturday”, September 15 are available online at www.nhis.com or by calling NHIS Guest Services at (603) 783-4931.
