Huth to be Keynote Speaker on Opening Day at Motorsports 2008 Promoter’s Summit

Atlantic City, NJ — Motorsports promoters from more than a dozen states representing more than 50 auto racing facilities will be taking part in the first annual Promoter’s Summit which will be part of the huge Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show presented by VP Racing Fuels.

Dennis Huth, president of Racing Speed Associates which owns the American Speed Association, will kick off the two day Summit on Friday, January 18th at 9am as a keynote speaker. Huth, who is given credit by many for getting the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series started when he was a NASCAR executive, will share some of his thoughts on the state of the short track racing industry.

The American Speed Association Member Track program is comprised of 27 short tracks around the United States, as well as a variety of regional and national touring series.

Just this past week Huth, along with WSIB Motorsports Insurance, announced new insurance coverage for members while they travel to and from ASA-sanctioned competition. ASA members in good standing will be eligible for a $500,000 Excess Medical Benefits policy along with a $20,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit.

ASA and WSIB Motorsports Insurance have signed on as a sponsor of the Promoter’s Summit and will entertain promoters at a reception at the end of the first day of the Summit before they head to the Gambler’s Classic Indoor Racing Events at the nearby Boardwalk Hall as guests of show promoter Len Sammons.

Huth’s presentation will be followed by the Kenny and Kenny show when NASCAR Sprint Cup racers Kenny Wallace and Kenny Schrader talk about the sport, their careers and their involvement in short track racing across the nation. Those with tickets for Motorsports 2008 will be able to take seats for this exciting event at 10 am on Friday, January 18th with the presentation beginning at 10:45 am. Wallace and Schrader will do an autograph session at 1 pm and Schrader will be racing in the Gambler’s Classic indoor racing events at Boardwalk Hall that evening.

The Promoter’s Summit will offer a variety of seminars and panel discussions on a variety of subjects from safety to promotion to scoring and more.

“It is exciting to all of us who are involved to see the interest in this first Summit,” said Promoter’s Summit director Ernie Saxton. “We have full activities planned for both Friday and Saturday plus we will allow attendees time to visit the show floor.”

The Summit is part of the three day Motorsports 2008 Race Car Show presented by VP Racing Fuels which opens on Friday, January 18th and continues through Sunday, January 20th at the huge Atlantic City, NJ Convention Center.
