Seekonk Speedway Inks 2008 Sponsorship Partners

Seekonk, MA — Seekonk Speedway is pleased to announce the addition of several new partnerships and the continued support of several returning sponsors at the Route 6 facility in 2008.  “Sponsorship always has, and always will, play a vital role in sustaining short track auto racing,” speedway Vice-President Francis Venditti explains.  “We are thrilled to welcome so many new and returning partners to our family in 2008.”

Aubuchon Hardware, family owned and operated since 1908, operates HardwareStore.com in conjunction with over 130 retail locations throughout Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and Upstate New York.  As part of their Centennial Celebration, Aubuchon’s season-long partnership with the Cement Palace will be highlighted by a special Aubuchon Hardware Night on Saturday, July 12.  The Tiverton, RI-based Phil’s Propane Company, which services over 5,000 residential, commercial and industrial accounts covering all of Newport and Bristol Counties, providing bulk propane delivery, 24 hour emergency service and installation of space heating, water heating and other propane equipment, is a returning partner in 2008.  The firm will sponsor an extra distance-extra cash-extra excitement Late Model event on Phil’s Propane Night, August 2.

Wheelock’s NAPA Auto Group, with six locations in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts, will also join the Seekonk Speedway team in 2008.  With knowledgeable parts specialists providing friendly, personalized service and huge in-stock inventory, Wheelock’s NAPA Auto Group carries over 310,000 quality parts and accessories for everything from cars and trucks, boats and tractors to lawnmowers and motorcycles.  Having sponsored local race teams for several years, Wheelock’s NAPA Auto Group will play a visible role in the weekly racing program.

Airgas, the nation’s largest distributor of industrial, medical, and specialty gases and related hardgoods, including welding supplies, will return as the title sponsors for the Northeastern Midget Association’s Boston Louie Seymour Classic on Saturday, August 9.  The crown jewel in the NEMA schedule, the annual race honors of the memory of pioneering car owner “Boston Louie” Seymour.  Airgas is also a leading United States distributor of safety products, the largest producer of nitrous oxide and dry ice, the largest liquid carbon dioxide producer in the Southeast, and a leading distributor of process chemicals, refrigerants and ammonia products through more than 1,000 locations includes branches, cylinder fill plants, production facilities, specialty gas laboratories, and regional distribution centers to serve a diversified customer base.

Longtime speedway partner Francis Farm of Rehoboth, MA will continue their sponsorship of the Mid-Season Championship races at the 1/3-mile oval on Saturday, July 19, which will feature extra laps and extra dough for the weekly Pro Stock, Late Model, Sport Truck, and Street Stock divisions.  The region’s oldest clambake facility will also be increasing their presence at the speedway via the first turn concession stand, where Francis Farm’s famous clam chowder and clam cakes will be served.  The addition of a giant tent and picnic tables along the first turn concourse will allow fans to take advantage of the Francis Farm and speedway concession stands, which will open when the gates swing open at 3 PM.  “By opening our grandstand gates at 3 PM instead of 4, we hope to provide a more relaxed afternoon atmosphere where families can dine with us, watch practice, and then enjoy the evening’s racing program,” Mr. Venditti adds.  Additional sponsorship partners are expected to be announced soon.
