Coors Light Continues Partnership with Stafford Speedway; Extends Title Sponsorship of SK Modified 100

Stafford Springs, CTCoors Brewing Company, through it’s Coors Light brand, has extended their title sponsorship of the SK Modified 100, which is scheduled for June 6, 2008 at Stafford Motor Speedway. This year’s SK Modified 100 will be the 35th Annual running of the extra distance classic, which places it behind only the Tech-Net Spring Sizzler and CARQUEST Fall Final as the longest continuously running events at the Connecticut half-mile.

Coors Light’s partnership with Stafford Motor Speedway began during the 2000 season with a weekly SK Modified contingency bonus of $150 as well as title sponsorship of the inaugural SK Modified® 150. With the SK Modified 150 taken off the SMS schedule after the 2003 season, Coors Light shifted their title sponsorship to the SK Modified® 100 and has held the title sponsorship of that event since the 2004 season. Coors Light also brought their 21 Means 21 program to the track by sponsoring the SK Modified® 21 Means 21 feature event and promoting Coors’ message of eliminating underage drinking.

“We’re happy to continue our association with Stafford Motor Speedway and their SK Modified® division,” said Rich Wordon of the Coors Brewing Company of Connecticut. “Stafford Speedway is the premier weekly track in New England and their SK Modified division is the most competitive and viable weekly NASCAR Modified division in the country. We’re looking forward to once again being part of this great event.”

“Coors Light has been an instrumental partner in helping us to grow our SK Modified® division here at Stafford,” said Mark Arute, SMS COO/GM. “Their excitement about the division and our extra distance events in particular speaks to the prestige and popularity that those events hold in the local racing scene. We’re proud to have a premium brand partner like Coors Light be associated with one of our premier events here at Stafford.”
