Thursday Night Thompson Thunder Starts This Week

Thompson, CT — The thunder rolls beginning this Thursday at the Thompson International Speedway. This week will mark the beginning of the 2008 NASCAR weekly racing programs known as Thursday Night Thompson Thunder (TNTT).

Thompson’s TNTT has become a fan favorite and affordable night out due to the extreme competition and the fast-paced nature of the entire program. Feature event racing gets underway shortly after 6 PM and within three hours, fans will have enjoyed six NASCAR Whelen All American Series divisions and are headed home at an early hour.

“We work very hard to provide non-stop action on the track. Our goal at Thompson is to present a family priced, action packed program without unnecessary delays. Our fans have come to expect an exciting night at the races and we are driven to provide just that,” said Special Advisor, Ben Dodge, Jr. “It’s a great night out. For thousands of NASCAR race fans, the track is just a short ride and the low price of admission gives people a real bang for their buck,” Dodge concluded. It’s NASCAR in your own back yard.

Thompson’s “Super Six” NASCAR Whelen All American Series divisions make up the regular weekly racing programs. The exciting, open wheel Sunoco Modifieds lead the line up. Defending division champion, Keith Rocco will lead a banner field of Modifieds that will include driver like Woody Pitkat, Bert Marvin, Todd Ceravalo, Jimmy Blewett, Doug Coby, Danny Cates and Kerry Malone and many more.

The sleek Pro Stock division is also filled with driving talent. Norman Wrenn, Mike O’Sullivan, Jeff Zuidema, Jeff Connors and George Bessette lead the Pro Stockers.

The weekly competition within the ranks of the Pro Stocks is unmatched at any other New England race track.

Add to these two incredible racing classes the Thompson Late Models, Limited Sportsman, Thompson Modifieds and Mini Stocks and you’ve got a great way to spend Thursday evenings. The competition in each of these NASCAR divisions is close and exciting. Grandstands open at 4:30 PM and the main events take the green flag shortly after 6 PM.
