Seekonk Speedway Rained Out

Seekonk, MA — Seekonk Speedway was forced to cancel their Step Back in Time, as the New England Antique Racers, Senior Tour Auto Racers, and Atlantic Coast Old Timers were scheduled as part of their Independence Day weekend celebration. Several cars were already on hand to return to the racetrack, when afternoon showers forced the cancellation of the program. No reschedule date has been issued at this time for ACOT, STAR and NEAR.

The weekend celebration resumes on Sunday, as the second Sunday Thrill show is scheduled for a 5pm post time. Spectator Drags will start the show, with Enduro Drags, Enduro racing, Figure 8 racing, Fireworks, and a $2,000 to win Demolition Derby highlight the festivities.

ARC racing action returns on Saturday Night July 12, as Aubochon Hardware, celebrating their 100 birthday in 2008, presents a full night of racing action. Also highlighting this event is the annual Tryke race for kids between the ages of 7 and 10.

The 5th annual Ed Holewiak III Memorial Bike Run, benefiting the Providence RI Ronald McDonald House, will start on Saturday at Seekonk Speedway. This event will return Sunday morning, beginning at Cardi’s Furniture and returning to Seekonk Speedway for fun and games. A hot rod/custom car show will also be part of the festivities, as well as?a motorcycle thrill show on the Seekonk Speedway. Food will be provided by Francis Farm.
