Speedbowl Continues NASCAR Affiliation

Waterford, CT – Speedbowl Management has announced its affiliation with NASCAR will continue in 2009.

“We’re pleased to announce we will continue to race under the NASCAR banner in 2009” Speedbowl owner and promoter Terry Eames stated late Thursday. “Admittedly the process was a longer road than we intended to take, however we’re here and we’re committed to an exciting season with NASCAR.”

As part of the announcement, Eames will be a guest on “The Front Stretch” with Pat Patterson – the show airs live on Sirius Satellite Radio Ch. 128 from 9a – 12p on Saturday, March 21. It will be also replayed on Patterson’s ESPN Radio network program which goes to 400 U.S. stations nationwide.

The Speedbowl’s SK Modified®, Late Model, Street Stock, and Mini Stock divisions will all participate in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series and be eligible to earn NASCAR points. Competitors in these four NASCAR divisions are required to purchase a 2009 NASCAR license to compete in 2009 and must be 16 years of age or older.

Race teams are reminded that active crew members on their teams are also required to purchase a NASCAR license.

NASCAR license holders from 2008 are encouraged by NASCAR officials to renew their license online as soon as possible, by visiting www.nascarmembers.com . Look for the link to renew your NASCAR license and follow the simple instructions for renewal.

New applicants and those unable to renew their licenses online must complete a NASCAR license form, available from the Speedbowl track office beginning Monday, March 23 as well as at the Budweiser Modified Nationals.

Any questions should be directed to Speedbowl Management by email to thebowlisback@hotmail.com or by contacting the track office at (860)383.7177.
