Eric Williams Becomes Second NHMS ACT Invitational Qualifier By Winning the 11th Annual Merchants Bank 150

Loudon, NH — Eric Williams of Hyde Park, Vt. dominates the 11th Annual Merchants Bank 150 at Thunder Road in Barre, Vt., as the last 106 laps are completed without a caution. Williams started fifth and worked his way to first during a caution plagued opening 44 laps. Williams took the lead from Dave Pembroke on about lap 50. Scott Payea caught Williams on lap 122 as they worked their way through heavy lap traffic, but once traffic cleared Williams was too strong.

Williams said, “It was an unbelievable day to pick up this win on the same day my son won his first ever race (at Thunder Road). To be come the second NHMS Qualifier was frosting on the cake.”

Eric Williams joins Brad Leighton as the first two qualifiers for the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The next ACT Invitational Qualifier will be decided on May 9 at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY.
