Thompson’s “TNTT” Opener Slated for Thursday, May 21

Thompson, CT — Thursday Night Thompson Thunder (TNTT), the extremely popular weekly race program, begins on May 21st.  The NASCAR Whelen All American Series makes its 2009 weekly debut with six exciting divisions of race cars.

Thompson’s TNTT events have become a fan favorite due to family pricing, free parking and great food all centered around high speed, edge-of-the- seat racing competition. Ticket prices have remained unchanged for the third year and the fast-paced program assures a fun night out and an early arrival back home. It’s NASCAR in your own back yard at its very best.

The ultra competitive Sunoco Modified division leads the line up of race cars. Thompson attracts the very best race teams week in and week out. The competition is wheel-to-wheel and the speeds on the high banked oval are amazing. This division is the crown jewel in Thompson’s weekly racing action. It attracts drivers from the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and drivers who have attained national, regional and local recognition for their accomplishments both on and off the track.

Thompson’s Super Late Model division is also a magnet for the best. Each week, this division draws the region’s most competitive race teams and provides fans with a 30-lap main event that is extremely exciting. Add to this the Thompson Late Model division of racers and the level of excitement gets kicked up another notch.

The action doesn’t stop there. Some of the most fun and excitement on a race night comes from the Thompson Limited Sportsman, Thompson Modifieds and Mini Stocks. These three divisions provide fans with wheel-to-wheel, paint swapping, bumper-to-bumper racing action every time they take to the track.

Thompson Speedway’s “TNTT” events produce some of the best weekly racing action to be found anywhere in the country. Each of the six NASCAR Whelen All American Series divisions, the Super 6, puts on a great race program. It is a rare sight to see fans leaving before the final flag has fallen on the last event of the evening. The action is hot, the program is run quickly and fans get a great night of entertainment for a very reasonable price.

Thompson’s Thursday night racing action is held every week  through the end of September. Many special events are included in the Thursday night line up with the first such special event slated for Thursday, June 18th. That’s the night when the True Value Modifieds roll into town for their Town Fair Tire 75-lap main event. The True Value race cars will be joined by the Super 6 making for an exceptional night of competition and family fun.
