Seekonk Called Off, Monadnock Up Next

N. Easton, MA – Pro Four Modified of New England (PFMNE) officials announced that the Seekonk Speedway race set for Saturday, September 12, will not be made up. Last Saturday¹s event was the second attempt at the event, which was originally slated for August 29. The Powder Puff race, which was also scheduled for last Saturday, will be made up, however, as part of Seekonk Speedway¹s season-ending D. Anthony Venditti Memorial event.PFMNE officials have announced that the D. Anthony Vendetti Memorial event will be a one-day show for the four-cylinder modifieds. Practice rounds, qualifying heats, and a main event will all be on tap for Saturday, October 10. This visit will mark the return of the Pro Fours to Seekonk¹s crown jewel, following a one-year hiatus in 2008. Unlike 2007, however, the PFMNE will be adding a Powder Puff race to benefit the research and treatment of breast cancer.

Before the DAV, though, Pro Four Modified teams must turn their attention to Monadnock Speedway, where they will compete in less than two weeks. The Super Saturday event marks the final visit of the scaled modifieds to “The Fastest Quarter-Mile in the East.”
