QUALIFYING: Lia wins pole
Stafford Springs, CT — Donny Lia earned his second Coors Light Pole Award of the season Sunday in qualifying for the CARQUEST Fall Final at Stafford Motor Speedway. Lia’s time of 18.579 seconds (96.884 mph) was fast enough to hold off Ted Christopher, who went out last and qualified second with a lap of 18.631 (96.613).Richie Pallai Jr. qualified third at 18.657 (96.479), followed by Glen Reen and Doug Coby.
Following a redraw of the top six qualifiers, Eric Berndt will start on the point, with Richie Pallai joining him on the front row. Coby and Lia will make up the second row, followed by Christopher and Reen.
Todd Szegedy qualified 10th and Ryan Preece 20th.
Christopher leads Lia by one points, Preece by 12 and Szegedy by 37 entering the second-to-last race of the season.
