Race Basics and Bassett Renew ACT Contingency Programs for 2010

Race Basics Chassis and Bassett Racing Wheels have recently announced the renewals of their contingency programs with the American Canadian Tour (ACT) for the 2010 season. Both companies supported ACT teams competing on the U.S. based ACT Tour and the Quebec based Série ACT Castrol in 2009 and look forward to continuing their support in 2010.

2010 will be the twelfth season of partnership between Bassett Racing Wheels and the American Canadian Tour, dating back to 1999. Bassett will award certificates for their racing wheels to ACT competitors finishing in the runner-up position in each of the 26 touring events plus the top three in the year end standings for both tours. Their contributions to ACT teams will exceed the $1,200 mark. Bassett is based in Burlington, Wisconsin and sells a variety of different steel racing wheels.

Race Basics Chassis is a popular chassis and parts company that is very popular with Late Model teams in the Northeast. In 2009 nearly 25 percent of ACT licensed teams competed in a Race Basics chassis. The 2009 champions of the ACT Tour (Brian Hoar), Série ACT Castrol (Donald Theetge) and Thunder Road International Speedbowl (Jean-Paul Cyr) all ran Race Basics built cars. Champions of two other ACT affiliated tracks, White Mountain Motorsports Park (Stacy Cahoon) and Oxford Plains Speedway (Travis Adams), also purchased their cars from the Norway, Maine shop. Since 2007, Race Basics has been awarding the top finishing Race Basics chassis in each ACT touring event with a $100 merchandise certificate. For the 2010 season they have added a $50 certificate to the 10th place finisher regardless of their chassis.

The 2010 racing season begins Sunday, April 18 at Lee USA Speedway for the ACT Tour, while the Série ACT Castrol schedule starts on Saturday, May 22 at Autodrome Chaudiere.
