Stan Mertz to Run Alliance Race at Yakima Washington Track

May, 16 2010 Boise, ID – The Northwest Pro4 Alliance would like to announce the Stan Mertz of Whitinsville, MA, the 2009 Pro Four Modifieds of New England, Limited Pro Four Champion has secured a ride for the First Class Auto Sales 60 at Yakima Speedway on June 12th in the #3 Tom Keehan owned Ford powered Grand Prix.

The Whitinsville, MA driver has been racing in the Pro Four Modifieds of New England racing series for the past four years and has won the Pro Four Modifieds of New England Limited Division Championship in 2008 and 2009. For 2010, Stan has stepped up his modified program to the Pro Four division this season and seems to be adjusting very well to the changes he and his crew have made to his bright yellow #16. Prior to racing in the Pro Four Modifieds, he also raced in the Truck Division at Seekonk Speedway.

Stan involvements in the PFMNE does not stop at just racing in the group but he is also the business manager and that is how the connection with Alliance marketing director Bob Coply came about which, in turn, lead to Stan and Tom coming to an agreement for the Yakima event.

Stan will be making his first full body Pro4 Late Model start with the Alliance and everyone here at the Boise office can’t wait to meet him and see how he does. The Alliance is proud that a driver of Stan’s caliber would want to join us at one of our events and we will work hard to make his visit one he will talk about for a long time.

Joining Stan for the weekend will be defending race winner and current Alliance championship points leader Rick Thompson, 2009 Meridian Speedway Champion Rob Powers, five time Utah Late Model Lite Champ Kurt Madsen, current Meridian Speedway championship points leader Kenny Chandler, two time ARCA West Truck Champ Steve Thompson and 2009 Meridian Speedway rookie of the year “the Rigby Rocket” Chester Thorson. This is just some of the talent and that’s why they call the Alliance the “universe” because it’s full of STARS.

About the NW Pro4 Alliance series:

The NW Pro-4 Alliance runs five-race package at 5 different racetracks that have supported four-cylinder late model racing throughout the years. The series regularly brings 26 or more cars to each show. Race teams from all over the Northwest are running in the NP4A. The five-race schedule allows them to come out and compete against 26+ cars in 75-100 lap feature events a few times a year while still being involved in a championship chase at their home tracks.

The competition is fierce and it’s an opportunity for drivers to race with the best of the best in four cylinder late model racing.

The number of top-notch drivers that are involved with the NP4A is impressive. The roster consists of Track Champions, Rookie of the Yearwinners, and many other drivers who have had great success at their hometown tracks and other touring series who all want to race in a series that showcases their talent and these great racing machines.

There are drivers on the NP4A series roster fromevery major four cylinderlate model series in theNorthwest. Thesedrivers will compete at five tracks: South Sound Speedway in Tenino Washington, Stateline Speedway and Stadium inStateline Idaho, Magic Valley Speedway in Post Falls Idaho, YakimaSpeedway in Yakima, WA, The WenatcheeValley Super Oval inWenatchee Washington and Spokane County Raceway in Spokane, WA.

Pro-Four Modifieds of New England is an exciting and competitive series that tours many top tracks throughout New England. In 1978 the division was created and began its career at Seekonk Speedway. The immediate success of the Pro-Four Modifieds with the fans allowed this division to begin touring New England racetracks. This division is an open-wheel modified series with many veterans as well as young drivers.Our engine sizes are limited to 2330cc’s capable of 300 hp with spec chassis. The weight to horsepower ratio allows extraordinary speed and handling. The cars are setup exactly like the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. The difference is weight, the maximum weight is 2,000 lbs.
