The Rocket Man will Once Again Bump and Draft at “The Magic Mile”

Loudon, NH — Watch out Whelen Modified Tour stars, Ryan Newman is once again entered into the 100 lap race on September 18. The Rocket Man will make his fifth consecutive start at “The Magic Mile,” behind the wheel of the No. 7 Aggressive Hydraulics Chevrolet owned by West Boylston, Mass. native Kevin “Bono” Manion.

Newman stole the show in the New England 100 last June, capturing the pole and checkered flag. In a typical dramatic Modified finish, he passed series regular and the speedways all time winningest driver Ted Christopher on the last lap to secure the win.

A northeast favorite, the Whelen Modified Tour provides some of the best racing at NHMS. Throughout the years, Sprint Cup Series stars such as Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, and Tony Stewart have all made starts in the series.

“The modified race is the best race of the weekend in my opinion. Fans get to see the cars actually bump and draft. It really is such a fun race to drive,” said Ryan Newman.

NASCAR’s Whelen Modified Tour will kick start an exciting triple header on Saturday, September 18 and will be followed by NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series and the American Canadian Tour (ACT) Invitational.
