Auchmoody Wins NETS Race

Lowell, MA — ARTS 2005 Mid-Atlantic Region Champion has come out of retirement, and claimed his first feature win in the New England Truck Series race Saturday night at Monadnock Speedway.

A quick paced program was completed at Monadnock Speedway with a full scheduled packed time line with NETS heat race second in the line up.

The #12 Ford of Derek Chriss, sponsored by Dan Engwer Wholesale Florist, from Averill Park, NY was on the pole along side, the #16 Chevy powered Lee-Boy sponsored truck of Willy Auchmoody from Highland, NY which started NETS participation in the nights events.
A great caution-free lap NETS event got started fourth in the track feature line up with #16 Auchmoody starting on the pole. On the outside, the #85 Chevy sponsored East Hampton Auto Parts truck of Greg Butler Jr., 2008 Rookie champion was holding his position in anticipation of taking the lead as the green flag dropped.

In tow, starting in the third position, the #83 FEB sponsored Chevy powered Truck, finishing second in points 2008, Gee Perry from Grandby, CT. Starting in fourth position, the # 3 Wells Communications sponsored Chevy, last race winner, Andy Lindeman on the outside.

Starting in the fifth position, finishing third in the 2009 points, #12 of Derek Chriss from Averill, NY. On the outside, starting in the sixth position, first season with NETS, the # 6 Chevy sponsored Dave’s Auto Enterprises, Rookie Craig Cashman.

As the double filed trucks get the green flag to go, Auchmoody quickly took the lead as Butler Jr. falls in behind at the start of the race. On lap four, the rookie Cashman spins out in turn three, but recovers keeping the race green.

The field moves up a position and continues on with Auchmoody leading halfway. At three to go, the field positions are changing with Perry making a move to gain second position dropping Butler down . Behind Perry, Lindeman drafts along taking the third position. On the final lap, Auchmoody takes the win with Perry taking second, while in turn four, the fight for third is on with Lindeman racing over the finish line by a nose with Butler Jr.
