The Modified Racing Series presented by Valentiautomall.com set to invade The Action Track of the East

Seekonk, MA — On Saturday, August 21, the Modified Racing Series presented Valentiautomall.com will appear at Seekonk Speedway for the first time in 2010. It will mark the 13th event in their 2010 schedule. So far, there have only been two repeat winners in the MRS this season, Les Hinckley III and Steven Masse.

Masse, fresh off his second win of the season just this past week, is showing that his back to back wins at Thunder Road were no fluke. Coupled with his runner-up finish in the 6th Annual Open Wheel Wednesday at Seekonk, this Bellingham MA native is becoming one of the favorites to win this event.

Todd Annarummo picked up his first ever modified win, and a $10,000 payday to go with it in July, and is ready to win his first MRS win at his home track. If he can continue his steady runs, he and his father, Vinnie Annarummo may become the first father/son team to win in the series. Vinnie has picked up three MRS wins, all at Seekonk. It just happens to be the same car his son drove to victory at the same track.

With only a handful of points separating the top drivers, this event may become a pivotal one in the championship chase. Dwight Jarvis, Jon McKennedy and Les Hinckley lead the charge into Seekonk Speedway, and while Jarvis has yet to win at Seekonk, he is still feeling the effects of missing the 2009 DAV Fall Classic by a couple of feet to Mike Stefanik. Hinckley and McKennedy have both won at the famed third-mile. The defending race winner, Chris Pasteryak, has been sitting out the past several weeks, healing a broken forearm.

Also on the program will be the A.R.C. Late Models, Sport Trucks and Street Stocks. The Pro Stocks will be idle this week.

The first green flag drops at 6pm for this event. Adult admission is just $20.00, with kids 12 and under FREE. For more information, check us out at seekonkspeedway.com. You can also catch us on Facebook. You can also call the track office at 508 336 9959.
