Speedway Star Winners Announced

Loudon, NH — Over 800,000 fans voted online for the first ever Speedway Children’s Charities Speedway Star competition and the winners have finally been chosen. Congratulations to Alexandra Wentworth and Christopher Duffley.

Duffley and Wentworth belted out the national anthem in front of a panel of local celebrity judges including: Roadkill from WGIR’s “The Morning Buzz,” Rock 101’s Scorch and Adam Furious; Justin McIsaac of WHEB, Alli Beaudry of WGIR and rock guitarist Gary Hoey during the speedway’s FANtasy Drive open house in April.

Wentworth, a native of Rollinsford, N.H., and a freshman at St. Thomas Aquinas high school will perform the Star Spangled Banner at the New England 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Saturday, July 16.

“I am definitely really excited. I have never performed at a place this size before,” she said.

Duffley who hails from Manchester, N.H., will sing the national anthem during the F.W. Webb 175 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event on Saturday, Sept. 24.

All proceeds from the Speedway Star competition benefited the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities. Thank you to all those who participated.

The Season of Speed is here and tickets for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on July, 17, the INDYCAR 225 on Aug. 14 and the SYLVANIA 300 on Sept. 25 are now on sale.
