USAC DMA Midgets Return to Bear Ridge June 18; July 2 Show Added; Hank Rogers, Jr. Joins DMA

Bradford, VT — Following their successful 15 car debut on May 28, the USAC Dirt Midget Association returns to Bear Ridge Speedway on June 18 for their second visit of the season.

Denny Zimmerman, the 1971 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year, was unable to make the opener because he was a guest of honor at the Indy 500, but he’ll be back behind the throttle of the Skip Matczak Midget that Kevin Chaffee drove to second place. Zimmerman plans to compete in all the remaining USAC DMA events at Bear Ridge this season.

In response to positive feedback from fans after the broadsliding, dirt slinging USAC DMA maiden voyage, Bear Ridge owner/operator C.V. Elms added an additional date to the five that had already been scheduled. Look for the USAC DMA Midgets on their added date, July 2, for Noise-R-Us Fireworks Night.

Hank Rogers, Jr., a two time ARDC Midget Champion with 43 feature wins, has joined the DMA and will be racing at Bear Ridge later this season. Rogers won the championships in 1979 and 1981 and stands seventh on the ARDC all time wins list.

The USAC DMA will be at Bear Ridge Speedway on Saturdays June 18, July 2, July 16, August 20 and September 10. For more information, visit our website at dmaracing.org.
