PASS Set to Hit the Action Track of the East for the PASS 150

Seekonk, MA — On Saturday, August 6, the Pro All Stars Series heads to the Bay State for their only appearance of the season. This will be the third visit by the Super Late Model touring series to Seekonk Speedway. It also marks a homecoming of sorts to two drivers sitting in the top ten in points.

Kyle DeSouza of East Providence will make his first appearance of the season where he picked up his first wins. Over the years, the youngster has picked up victories in the Seekonk Youth Racing Association, Sport Tricks and, just last year, the Late Models. Also spending mane seasons touring the 1/3 mile oval was John Dabrowski of West Bridgewater. John has been a long time Pro Stock competitor, and his experience showed in 2010, when he dominated his qualifier. Travis Benjamin picked up his first career Pro Stock win back in 2000, when he won the Budweiser 100, an open competition event.

The past two visits by the Pro All Stars Series have been dominated by the local talent. In 2009, Tom Scully Jr of Cranston, RI picked up his biggest win, besting two of the all time win leaders in P.A.S.S. history, Ben Rowe and Johnny Clarke. Derek Ramstrom and Dave Darling rounded out the top five. The race was dominated by Seekonk regulars, as Dave Hutchens Sr and Ray Parent spent many laps at the top of the leader board before Scully took over.

In 2010, Darling was able to better his finishing position by four, taking home the win in their second event. Trevor Sanborn, Derek Ramstrom, Ben Rowe and Johnny Clark were the rest of the top five. This event also saw Seekonk regulars leading much of this event. Four time Seekonk Pro Stock Champ Rick Martin led the first 99 laps, while Darling led the final 43.

This past Saturday, several teams used a regular Saturday Night of action to tune up for the P.A.S.S. 150. Derek Ramstrom competed in the 40 lap main event, while DeSouza was on hand turning the 1/3 mile oval in preparation. Bobby Pelland III, Late Model Champion Ryan Vanasse, Jake Vanada and Bill Antonellis were also on hand, breaking in their Pro Stocks, in the hopes that 2011 may be their year.

Coming into this event, Hallowell, ME is leading the points standing, and has 2 top five finishes in this event. Ben Rowe is second in the championship standings, and has also been in the top five both times. Lonnie Somerville of New Brunswick, Canada sits third, with Quebec’s Alexander Gingras and Travis Benjamin completing the top five. Scott Chubbuck, Mike Rowe, Scott Alexander, DeSouza and Dabrowski round out the top ten.

Action for the third P.A.S.S.150 starts at 6pm. While the Seekonk Pro Stocks have the night off, the Late Models, Street Stocks and the Sport Trucks will all be in action. The main gates open at 4pm. Adult admission is just $20.00 for this event. For more information, be sure to check out seekonkspeedway.com, or find us on Facebook.
