USAC Invading the grounds of Thompson Speedway this Weekend
Thompson, CT — The 1st annual “Yankee Doodle New England Championship” will be held at Little T Speedway on the grounds of Thompson Speedway on Friday August 26th and Saturday August 28th. This national event race will be sanctioned by USAC through their .25 Midget division. Quarter Midget drivers this weekend will range from age 5 to 17 and as far away as Pennsylvania. This weekend will have around 14 different divisions competing.
USAC will be coming in and taking over. They will handle all race day activities. They expect the car count to be higher than normal with even more competitive racing. The weekend kicks off Friday with all day controlled practice. Saturday will start off with single car qualifying.
Once qualifying is concluded, the lower mains will begin and then followed by the A main feature events. Sunday will be used as a rain date if necessary. The event is open to the public with free admission.
Little T Speedway is currently the only USAC .25 Midget track in New England. Little T Speedway is ran every week through the Custom Midget Club using USAC as their racing charter. This is the 35th consecutive year that Custom Midget Club has ran their races at Little T Speedway.
