LKQ/Keystone Lite Modifieds to Debut at Thompson

Thompson, CT — The newest NASCAR Whelen All-American Series division at Thompson International Speedway, the LKQ/Keystone Lite Modifieds, will make its debut on Sunday, May 20th. LKQ/Keystone is the nation’s leading supplier of used and after market replacement auto parts.

The lite style of Modified race cars proved to be very popular at Thompson in special events appearances during the last two years and, as a result, have been added as a weekly division in 2012.

In making the announcement of title sponsorship for the Lite Modified division, Mike Dufresne, Regional Vice President of LKQ/Keystone, said that LKQ/Keystone was very pleased to have the opportunity to provide weekly sponsorship in the form of bonus money to the new and exciting racing division. “We know that many of our customers are involved in racing and we wanted to step up and support this program. Our customers know of our love for auto racing and we wanted to show them that we support their dedication to the sport.” said Dufresne. LKQ and Keystone have locations coast to coast in the USA.

LKQ specializes in the replacement auto parts with Massachusetts outlets in Webster, Leominster and Southwick. Their Rhode Island facility is located in Cumberland. The Leominster location offers a “pick and pull” area where customers can actually select and remove the parts they need and save money in the process.

Keystone, which specializes in after market replacement parts, has locations in Taunton, Webster, Wilmington and Springfield, all in Massachusetts. The Connecticut locations are in Manchester and in Milford.

LKQ/Keystone joins Monster Energy Drink, Xtra/Mart Convenience Stores, Obastid Apparel, Town Fair Tire, Interstate Batteries, Cady’s Tavern Patriot Disposal and Draco Springs as supporters of Thompson’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions. By year’s end, these companies will have given Thompson competitors more than $13,000.00 in bonus money.

“We are thrilled to have this kind of support from these exceptional companies,” said Jonathan Hoenig, Thompson’s Marketing Director. “We introduced sponsored bonus money last year. It was an instant hit with our competitors and we are excited about the growth and the future of this program”, Hoenig concluded.

The LKQ/Keystone Lite Modifieds will make their first appearance of the 2012 season on Sunday, May 20th as part of the Valenti Modified Racing Series event. These two divisions will be joined by Thompson’s Sunoco Modifieds, Late Models, Xtra/Mart Limited Sportsman and Monster Mini Stocks.
