TSI Harley-Davidson Bringing NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Excitement to Fans on Memorial Day Weekend at Stafford Speedway Once Again

Stafford Springs, CT — For the fifth consecutive season, Stafford Speedway’s Friday, May 25th Memorial Day Weekend Whelen Modified Tour event will be sponsored by TSI Harley-Davidson, the oldest Harley-Davidson dealer in the state of Connecticut. The race sponsorship continues a relationship that dates back to the 2006 season when TSI Harley-Davidson sponsored a NASCAR K & N Pro Series East event at the Connecticut half-mile.

“We’re excited and looking forward to being involved with the Whelen Modified Tour once again at Stafford,” said Harry Levesque, Owner of TSI Harley-Davidson. “The Whelen Modified Tour certainly has a great fan base and sponsoring this event is a great way for us to be able to interact with that fan base to showcase our Harley-Davidson line of motorcycles as well as the products and services that we have to offer here at TSI Harley-Davidson.”

The TSI Harley-Davidson 125 has become one of the most exciting stops on the Whelen Modified Tour calendar. The TSI Harley-Davidson 125 has seen last lap passes for the win as well as duels for victory between some of the best drivers on the Tour. Whelen Modified Tour champions Ted Christopher, Tony Hirschman, Donny Lia, Bobby Santos, III, Ronnie Silk, and Mike Stefanik have all tasted the fruits of victory in the TSI Harley-Davidson 125.

Ryan Preece will look to continue his hot streak during the 2012 season in the TSI Harley-Davidson 125. In the first three races of the 2012 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season, Preece has won the pole position for each race and he collected his first victory of the 2012 season last Saturday at Monadnock Speedway.

Defending Whelen Modified Tour champion Ronnie Silk will look to put the brakes on Preece’s hot streak by repeating his TSI Harley-Davidson 125 victory of one year ago, but the TSI Harley-Davidson 125 has not had a repeat winner since the 1997-1998 seasons when Mike Stefanik was victorious in consecutive years. Bob Garbarino owned cars have won three of the previous five TSI Harley-Davidson 125’s with three different drivers: Donny Lia, Chuck Hossfeld, and Bobby Santos, III.

Silk leads the points standings heading into next Friday night’s TSI Harley-Davidson 125 with CARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler champion Doug Coby only one point behind. Preece is third in the standings, only 4 points behind Silk.
