Lincoln Tech of East Windsor Returning to Stafford Speedway as Title Sponsor of September VMRS Race

Stafford Springs, CT — Stafford Motor Speedway has announced that Lincoln Tech of East Windsor will return as the title sponsor of the track’s Lincoln Tech 80 Valenti Modified Racing Series race on Sept. 14. The 2013 season will be the third consecutive year that Lincoln Tech has sponsored the VMRS event at Stafford, and the fourth consecutive season that Lincoln Tech has been part of the Stafford Speedway family of sponsors.

Lincoln Tech first teamed up with SMS in 2010 when they signed on to be the title sponsor of the track’s 100-lap Late Model race. After the VMRS made its Stafford debut in 2010, the track added a second VMRS race for the 2011 season and Lincoln Tech transferred their title sponsorship to that second race.

“This will be our fourth season together, we’ve received great exposure from our relationship with Stafford,” said Rob Wargo, Eastern Connecticut High School Admissions Reps for Lincoln Tech. “We have several current students as well as graduates that are either racers or crew members at Stafford. We’ve enjoyed a great relationship with the track and Mark and Lisa Arute, and the exposure we’ve gotten for Lincoln Tech has helped us out with admissions. With the race being in September, it’s a perfect lead in to our 2014 high school recruiting class, so it’s a perfect combination for us.”

In addition to sponsoring the VMRS race, Lincoln Tech has also come up with some of the most unique trophies to be presented in Stafford’s CARQUEST Victory Lane. For Lincoln Tech’s first race, they presented an airbrushed hood from a car to the winner of the Late Model 100 and they followed that up with another hood for Jon McKennedy, who won last year’s Lincoln Tech 80. Plans are in the works once again for a hood to be presented to the winner of this year’s Lincoln Tech 80, and the first 1,000 fans through the gates for the September 14 Lincoln Tech 80 will receive a free Lincoln Tech backpack.

“The hoods have been big hits and we’re going to have our automotive students airbrush another hood for this year’s winner,” said Tony Bartley, Western Massachusetts High School Admissions Reps for Lincoln Tech. “We’re also going to have the automotive students airbrush a car with some custom Batman logos, which we’ll have on display during the race. We’re looking forward to meeting the first 1,000 fans who come through the gates and giving them a free Lincoln Tech backpack.”

The East Windsor Lincoln Tech location is hosting an open house on Saturday, March 2 from 9am-12noon. Anyone interested in attending the open house can RSVP with Rob Wargo by calling 860-627-4300.
