The Hot Lap – Ray Parent

The Hot Lap – Interesting News. Short Stories. Fast Facts.

Tiverton, Rhode Island’s Ray Parent made a splash on the American Canadian Tour when he captured the 4th Annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last September. The victory was his first with ACT, but that wasn’t enough for the Seekonk Speedway veteran.

During the offseason, Parent told Vermont Motorsports Magazine “I think we have more momentum going into this season than I have ever had in my whole racing career. We are at the point where we are more organized than we’ve ever been, more prepared than we’ve ever been, and in 2013, we’re hoping to give Wayne (Helliwell) a run for his money.”

On the wings of two top fives in the first three races – and zero finishes outside the top ten – Parent sits fourth in the overall standings just a few markers behind reigning ACT Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr. Parent will head into Airborne Speedway this Saturday, May 18 looking to continue his hot start to the year and remain in contention for his first ACT Championship.
