Mother Nature Wins Again at Thompson – Cancellation Causes Schedule Changes

THOMPSON, CT — With a heavy downpour forecast by meteorologists throughout New England, Thompson Speedway has pulled the plug on tomorrow’s Thursday Night Thompson Thunder race program. By canceling the June 13th events, changes in the schedule for the next two weeks became necessary.

The originally scheduled twin Sunoco Modified 30-lap features will be run on Thursday, June 20th. That program will also include Vintage Outlaw Modifieds and double feature events for the Lite Modifieds brought on by a rain-interrupted race on June 6th. The night will be action packed as the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Models, Xtra Mart Limited Sportsman and Monster Mini Stocks will also be part of this full, 8-feature event, night of exciting racing action.

Fans will continue to get a bonus on Thursday, June 27th. Already scheduled for that night is a special 40-lap event for the Late Models. That event will be run along with double features for the Xtra Mart Limited Sportsman also due to the rain-interrupted race on June 6th. Add the Sunoco Modifieds, Lite Modifieds, and Monster Mini Stocks and fans will be treated to a second evening of additional high-speed racing action.

All of this extra racing will be offered to fans at no additional charge. It’s a great deal for a great night out at the races from Thompson Speedway. Grandstand will open at 4 PM with racing slated for a 6 PM start.

Detailed schedules of each night’s action-paced racing will be posted on the track’s web page at www.thompsonspeedway.com. Fans can also follow Thompson on both Facebook and Twitter.
