Test Session for NASCAR Sprint Cup Stars – YankeeRacer.com

Test Session for NASCAR Sprint Cup Stars

LOUDON, NH — NASCAR’S top drivers will be visiting the Granite State for a test session on Tuesday, June 25 and Wednesday, June 26.

Hometown favorites Roush-Fenway Racing along with Penske and Stewart-Haas Racing drivers will all be at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in preparation for next month’s New Hampshire 300 weekend on July 11-14.

Grandstands will be open free of charge from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Several NASCAR drivers visited the Magic Mile last month for a two-day Goodyear Tire Test. This time drivers including defending Sprint Cup champion Brad Keselowski will be turning hot laps on the track, along with former champion Tony Stewart, and his teammates, Danica Patrick and Ryan Newman. Roush-Fenway Racing’s Sprint Cup drivers Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will join Nationwide Series driver Trevor Bayne and Travis Pastrana.

Since NASCAR opened the door for drivers to do more testing, the testing sessions have become a “must see” event for fans. The sights and sounds of the practice session are very close to race day Sundays.  Just last month, several drivers including Jeff Gordon and Joey Logano turned some of the fastest laps in Magic Mile history, testing new Goodyear tires and set-ups in preparation for summer racing.

“Drivers approach these practice sessions very seriously, and when you have drivers of the caliber of Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards and defending champion Brad Keselowski, you are naturally going to see some competitive fires burning,” explains Jerry Gappens, vice president and general manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  “We are thrilled to have these guys back at the track.  It’s free racing entertainment for anyone who wants to come and watch.”

Fans are encouraged to watch from the grandstands free of charge. Fans will have the opportunity to get a look at some of their favorite drivers in a very up-close-and-personal environment. We’ve got former series champions, track champions and future Hall of Famers in this lineup.

And this is just the pregame ceremonies.  You’ve got to come see the real thing.  The Sprint Cup field will line up to run for the checkered flag in just a few weeks, and some of our best seats are still available.  Group seating, camping, hospitality, and VIP packages are still available for the New Hampshire 300 on July 14 or the SYLVANIA 300 on Sept. 22. Purchase them now by calling the speedway ticket hotline at (603) 783-4931 or by visiting www.nhms.com.
