Former Stafford Regulars -Series Champions Lead New England Truck Series Field to Lindeman Memorial Event

STAFFORD SPRINGS, CT — With three events to go, the championship hunt for New England Truck Series Trophy is dominated by Stafford Motor Speedway vetrans looking to make a statement about their season.

Defending series champion Duane Noll, a SMS competitor for many years in both Modified and Late Model divisions, seeks to extend his commanding point lead in the series. The rest of the top 5 is far from settled with three events to go. Duane’s brother Glen Noll has a small cushion in second over the battle for third involving two SMS veterans and another former Truck Series Champion. Former Stafford Limited Late Model competitor Pete Cayer has a one point advantage over former SMS Late Model driver Tony Lafo. Lafo is tied with former Series Champion Chris Correll for fourth in the standings. Adding to the excitement, Cayer and Lafo are also battling for NETS Rookie of the Year honors as well as a spot on the podium at the series banquet.

The Carquest Fall final plays host to the 25 lap Shirley Lindeman Memorial Race, mother of former Truck Series Champion Andy Lindeman. Shirley was a fixture in the Truck Series for many years, and is remembered by all as not just a fan of one competitor, but as a true fan and “mom” of all who have raced in the series. The race in Shirley’s memory is sponsored by her son Andy, as well as the Burdick Motorsports Organization. The series is expecting a large turnout for the event, including Lindeman, Brad Caddick,Tom Metcalf, Zach Sylvester, and Paul Varricchio.
