F2000, F1600 and Atlantic 2014 Schedules Announced

F1600 will expand to seven weekends in 2014

Sharon, CT – Formula Race Promotions today announced its 2014 schedules for the F2000 Championship Series, now in its ninth season, the F1600 Formula F Championship Series, and the newly re-launched Atlantic Championship Series. The schedule is made up of a diverse set of race tracks in North America based on team and driver feedback.

F2000 will run its traditional seven-weekend/14 race format, with F1600 expanding due to positive market demand to pair with F2000 on all seven events. Those weekends include Road Atlanta to kick things off in April, followed by Watkins Glen in May, VIR, Mid-Ohio, the recently renovated Pittsburgh International Race Complex, and the brand new Thompson Speedway road course, before another visit to the highly popular Watkins Glen to finish the year in October.

Atlantic competitors can look forward to a five event, 10-race calendar featuring Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, VIR, Mid-Ohio, and concluding at Thompson Speedway in Connecticut.

“The 2014 schedule offers in essence one double race weekend per month starting in April and ending in October,” said Series Managing Director Michael Rand. “With two visits to almost everyone’s favorite track Watkins Glen International for F2000 and F1600, and the other aspirational great tracks spread throughout the season, as well as the return of the Atlantic Championship for five double race weekends, we are poised for our best and busiest season ever. Notable are the new Thompson Speedway road course, and a renovated Pittsburgh facility.”

All event weekends will feature an abundance of track time for competitors, a differentiating point that has become a hallmark of the F2000 Series over the years.

Major weekends for the three series include July 4th at Mid-Ohio, and Labor Day at Thompson.
