Monadnock: Alyssa Rivera & Kimmy Rivet Prepare for Upcoming Modified Season

Alyssa Rivera comes from a racing family, stating her dad has been in racing forever. He has had multiple drivers in that time including Everett Bingham, Dale Utton and Alyssa. Alyssa started driving for him in 2007 with a Strictly Stock at Twin State Speedway. She has also raced at Canaan Fair Speedway in five races that season winning one race, and with two third place finishes, ending up seventh in points. Alyssa said her biggest accomplishments for the 2007 season were at Twin State, where she won a total of 6 races, and had a total of 11 podium finishes. She was also awarded Rookie of the Year, Most Popular Driver and finished third in points. After 2007 they sold the Strictly Stock and bought a Modified but did not compete with that car until the 2013 season. Alyssa ran a couple different races in the Super Street division between 2007-13 but did not compete enough to say so.

2013 was a rough rookie season in the Modified division. It was her first full season back, competing against the best of the best. Alyssa finished first in one heat race and qualified for more than half of the races. Alyssa lost Rookie of the Year by 10 points and still finished 10th in points for the season.

The Rivera Racing Team is happy to announce they are getting a brand new Modified for the 2014 season. The new car is being assembled by the great guys at Barnard Race Cars out of Southampton, Massachusetts.

The team is also making a deal with Kimmy Rivet. Kimmy will drive last year’s Modified and Alyssa will be driving the new Modified at Monadnock Speedway in ’14. Kimmy will compete for Rookie of the Year and Alyssa for Most Improved. Said Alyssa “I believe we will be a great team and we are glad to have her aboard! We are very excited for the upcoming season; it should be a great one!”
